The Canadian national ice hockey team, which had started with three defeats, have won the 2021 IIHF World Championship being held in the Latvian capital of Riga.
In the final, Canada faced defending champions Finland, and won 3-2 in overtime.
Canada became the world ice hockey champions for the 27th time and equaled the USSR/Russia.
The bronze medal was won by the USA, which defeated Germany 6-1.
