The matches of the quarterfinals were played at the 2021 IIHF World Championship being held in the Latvian capital of Riga.
Canada beat Russia 2-1 in overtime
The USA defeated Slovakia 6-1.
Reigning titleholders Finland beat the Czech Republic 1-0.
And Germany defeated Switzerland 3-2.
The pairings for the semifinals on Saturday are: USA vs. Canada, and Finland vs. Germany.
And the final will be played on Sunday.
