International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach plans to travel to Japan on July 12, 11 days before the start of the 32nd Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Kyodo reported.
The German was supposed to leave for Japan in May, but the trip was delayed due to a coronavirus pandemic. The IOC President wanted to meet with the Prime Minister of Japan Yoshihide Suga to take part in the Olympic torch relay race in Hiroshima.
