Mihran Harutyunyan beats Akhmedkhan Akhmedov in Moscow

Vice-champion of the Olympic Games in Greco-Roman wrestling and mixed martial artist Mihran Harutyunyan scored his fourth victory after the fifth duel in the MMA (starting from 49th minute in the video).

During the Eagles FC 35 tournament in Moscow, Harutyunyan faced off against Russian Akhmedkhan Akhmedov and ended the duel sooner than expected (3 minutes and 17 seconds).

Mihran Harutyunyan entered the hall to the sounds of the famous words of Monte Melkonian: “We need to put in all our efforts in this and win…”

Harutyunyan was also escorted by a group of dancers who were dressed in Armenian national costumes and performed the Armenian “Berd” dance before Harutyunyan entered the octagon.

At the outset of the duel, the referee gave -1 point to Mihran Harutyunyan for being aggressive, but this didn’t stop Mihran from taking control after the first seconds. Harutyunyan was at an advantage after throwing and choking trick, after which he dealt blows to his opponent and recorded a technical knockout sooner than the end of the duel.

Before this duel, Akhmedov, 25, had fought 6 duels, scored 3 victories and suffered 3 defeats in the MMA.

Before this duel, Mihran Harutyunyan had won 3 of the 4 duels in the MMA and lost 1. His last duel was in October 2019 when he lost to Kazakh wrestler Zhasulan Akimzhan.
