Russian-Armenian boxer Artyom Mikayelyan who died in road accident to be buried in Armenia

Russia-based Armenian boxer, Russia’s sport master Artyom Mikayelyan, who died in a road accident that took place at the 102nd kilometer of the Tyumen-Omsk road, will be buried in Armenia, the Armenian boxer’s family told NEWS.am Sport.

The accident took place on the evening of January 16. Mikayelyan had been boxing since the age of 4 at the Olympic Sport Reserve School in the Ishimi district of Tyumen Region. He was a winner of the Russian junior boxing championship, a bronze medalist of the 2015 Junior European Boxing Championship and a sport master. In 2016, he and his father moved to Moscow where he trained to become a professional boxer. On February 12, Mikayelyan was going to take part in the professional boxing championship to be held in Moscow.

The Requiem Service for the boxer will be held on January 22 at 5 p.m. at Erebuni Funeral Parlor in Yerevan. The funeral will take place on January 23 at 1 p.m. at the cemetery in Noragavit district of Yerevan.
