Vazgen Tevanyan and other medalists in the 65 kg weight category received their medals during the award ceremony held at the play-offs of the Freestyle Wrestling World Championship drawing to an end in Belgrade.
The Armenian national anthem was played and the Armenian national flag was waved in honor of Vazgen Tevanyan. The Azerbaijani wrestler who had scored a bronze medal refused to stand on the platform of honor, and his Azerbaijani coach received the medal.
In this weight category, Hungary’s representative Ismayil Musukayev scored the silver medal, and Ukraine’s representative Gor Hovhannisyan scored the bronze medal.
During the final for wrestlers in the 61 kg weight category, the European youth champion competed with bronze medalist of the 2019 Freestyle Wrestling World Championship, Hungary’s representative Ismayil Musukayev and beat him 9-1.
Out of the freestyle wrestlers, 2019 European champion Arsen Harutyunyan (57 kg) scored the silver medal, while Arman Andreasyan (70 kg) scored the bronze medal.
