Pele on death of Maradona: One day, I hope we can play ball together in the sky

Brazilian football legend Pele commented on the news about the death of legendary Argentine footballer Diego Maradona.

“One day, I hope we can play ball together in the sky,” Pele said, Reuters reported.

Legendary footballer Diego Maradona died of cardiac arrest aged 60, CNN Brasil reported.

The last time Maradona was seen in public was on October 30 at the match of the first round of the Argentinean championship Gimnasia vs Patronato. Maradona underwent brain surgery on November 2.

He was discharged from the hospital on November 12.

Diego Maradona began his football career in 1976 at Argentinos Juniors.
