La Gazzetta dello Sport: Roma supports Mkhitaryan

The Italian portal La Gazzetta dello Sport touched upon the situation on the Artsakh-Azerbaijani border, noting that Roma supports the Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

These are difficult days for Mkhitaryan, the source noted adding that there are military actions in Nagorno-Karabakh, and the thoughts of Mkhitaryan and his family members are there.

Mkhitaryan agreed to play in the match against Juventus, but now the head coach of the team, Paulo Fonseca, is ready to give Mkhitaryan a rest, the portal added.

Earlier, the captain of the Armenian national team condemned the aggression of Azerbaijan against Artsakh and Armenia.

"Heavy military fights are still continuing against Nagorno Karabakh, many victims on both sides. The territory of the Republic of #Armenia is being bombed too. The Azerbaijani attack which started on September 27th in the morning targeting civilian population is strongly condemnable. An immediate end to this violence and crime against humanity is urgent and vital. Turkey must halt all support and enabling of this offensive, including the recruitment of foreign terrorist fighters to attack Armenians. I call on international community, on allies for an urgent intervention in order to avoid another genocide," he wrote.
