The start of the 2020/21 season of the Italian Serie A will be pushed back if the country's football federation accepts Inter Milan’s proposal, Sky Italia reported.
Inter have appealed to the Italian football authorities, proposing to start the new Serie A season—which is scheduled to start on September 19—sometime later.
According to the Inter management, after playing 2-3 matches a week after the break due to the coronavirus pandemic, the teams will not have enough time to prepare for the new season.
If other Serie A teams join Inter's aforesaid proposal, the Italian Football Federation will have to push back the start of the 2020/21 season.
