Barcelona meeting turns tense, Maria Bartomeu urged to resign

Barcelona held an emergency meeting with the board of directors that was chaired by president Maria Bartomeu, Mundo Deportivo reported.

The meeting turned tense as members of the board of directors demanded Bartomeu's resignation and holding parliamentary elections in summer.

Earlier Bartomeu admitted that I3 Ventures had been hired to improve the image of Barcelona on social media.

The reports suggest that I3 Ventures company was hired to organize a campaign undermining players, such as Messi, Xavi, Puyol and Piqué. Bartomeu admitted that I3 Ventures had been hired to improve the image of Barcelona on social media but rejected accusations of organizing campaign against players.
