Japan ambassador: Olympic Games will not be canceled because of coronavirus

Olympic Games in Japan will not be canceled because of coronavirus, Japanese Ambassador to Armenia Jun Yamada told reporters in Yerevan on Sunday.

“Japan is ready to host Olympic Games for the second time after 1964. The new stadium is ready,” he said. “There is one general idea that we always try to support. The Olympic Games should be for the whole world and humanity. The message of the game is to live in harmony with nature, and not fight against it. Our goal is to show the world how Japan managed to recover from the tsunami of 2011. After the Games, the Armenian team will visit the city of Minamiise, where residents are very much interested in wrestling.”

The Olympc ummer Games will be held in Tokyo from July 24 to August 9.
