Gines Melendez: If Melikbekyan stays, I will continue my projects

Technical director at the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) Gines Melendez said he would continue projects aimed at improving training of Armenian coaches if federation's general secretary Armen Melikbekyan stays.

“If Armen Melikbekyan stays at the federation, I will continue implementation of this project. This is a matter of responsibility and loyalty to a person who has invited you and pins hopes on you. I have always done so. We see many young talents in Armenia, they have big future,” he said.  “The dismissal of Gyulbudaghyants [former Armenia manager – ed.] was a big surprise for me. Armen [Gyulbudaghyants] gathered an excellent squad that was claiming for the next round. Now we have to move forward step by step.”

Yerevan is hosting two-day courses on updating coaching licenses with the participation of leading European coaches.

The courses are being held on 9-10 December in Armenia Marriott hotel and will feature Spanish coach Aitor Karanka, his assistant Juan Villa and Leads United sporting director Victor Orta.
