Ronaldo crowned Serie A player of the year

The Italian Football Association has held the annual Gran Gala del Calcio awards ceremony.

Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo was named the best football player of the year. Atalanta was recognized as the best team, and Gian Piero Gasperini (Atalanta) was recognized as the best coach.

The symbolic team of the year is as follows:

Goalkeeper: Handanovic (Inter).

Defenders: Kolarov (Roma), Chiellini (Juventus), Koulibaly (Napoli), João Cancelo (Juventus).

Midfielders: Pjanić (Juventus), Iličić (Atalanta), Barella (Cagliari).

Forwards: Quagliarella (Sampdoria), Zapata (Atalanta), Ronaldo (Juventus).
