The Armenian men’s chess team today competed with the Russian team at the European Team Chess Championships taking place in Batumi.
Armenia lost to Russia 1.5-2.5. Levon Aronian, Gabriel Sargsyan and Hrant Melkumyan tied their matches, while Arman Pashikyan lost to Daniil Dubov with white figures.
The Armenian women’s team lost to the Georgian team 1.5-2.5. Anna Sargsyan won, Lilit Mkrtchyan tied her match, while Elina Danielyan and Maria Gevorgyan were defeated.
Currently, the Armenian men’s chess team has 12.5 points and is in 6th place on the table, while the women’s team is in 8th place with 12 points.
