Chess World Cup 2019: Levon Aronian starts in quarter finals

On September 23, the 1/4 finals of the World Chess Cup draw start in Khanty-Mansiysk.

The opponent of the leader of Armenian chess Levon Aronian (2758) will be the Frenchman Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (2774).

Other quarter-finals: Russian Alexander Grischuk (2759) and Chinese Ding Liren (2811), Russian Nikita Vitiugov (2732) and Chinese Yu Yangyi (2763), U.S. representative Jeffery Xiong  (2707) and Azerbaijani Teimour Radjabov (2758).

In the event of reaching the semifinals, Aronian’s opponent will be the winner of the Xiong - Radjabov pair.
