Armenia PM declares Pan-Armenian Summer Games opened

Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan declared the 7th Pan-Armenian Summer Games in Stepanakert officially opened.

Prior to this, the torch of the Games had been lit by Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, His Holiness Pargev; Olympic shooting champion Hrachya Petikyan and Vice-Chairman of the World Committee of the Pan-Armenian Games, Armenian American benefactor and one of the founders of the Games Albert Boyajian.

The program of the Games includes 17 sports. There will be 105 medals, nearly 5,000 athletes from 145 cities and 406 referees from Armenia, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic), Russia, Iran, Georgia and Kazakhstan, and the chief referee will be merited sport figure, Olympic referee Derenik Gabrielyan.

The closing ceremony of the Games will be held in Yerevan on August 17.
