FIDE: Armenia’s Aronian returns to top 10 in world standings

The World Chess Federation (FIDE) has issued its rankings for August 2019. 

Accordingly, Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian, who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and former World Team Chess champions Armenia, has returned to top ten in these standings and is now ranked eighth. He was 14th in last month’s rankings.

The reigning World Champion, GM Magnus Carlsen (Norway), continues to top this list.
