Ռուսաստանցիներ Ելենա Լաշմանովան եւ Օլգա Կանիսկինան նվաճեցին մարզական քայլքի 20 կմ մրցատարածության օլիմպիական ոսկե եւ արծաթե մեդալները համապատասխանաբար։ Լաշմանովան հաղթեց համաշխարհային նոր նվաճումով։

Բրոնզե մեդալը չինական գրանցում ստացավ։
