Մարիանա Պախոնը նվաճեց Կոլումբիայի առաջին ոսկե մեդալը 30-րդ Օլիմպիական խաղերում։ Լեռնային հեծանիվի կանանց մրցումներում Պախոնն առաջ անցավ Նոր Զելանդիայի ներկայացուցիչ Սառա Ուոքերից եւ հոլանդացի Լաուրա Սմյուլդերսից։
