Ջրագնդակի կանանց ԱՄՆ-ի հավաքականը նվաճեց 30-րդ Օլիմպիական խաղերի չեմպիոնի տիտղոսը: Եզրափակիչում ամերիկացիները 8:5 հաշվով առավելության հասան իսպանացիների նկատմամբ:

Բրոնզե մեդալի համար խաղում Ավստրալիան 13:11 հաշվով պարտության էր մատնել Հունգարիային:
