200 մետր վազքի աշխարհի եռակի չեմպիոն ամերիկացի Էլիսոն Ֆելիքսն առաջին անգամ նվաճեց Օլիմպիական չեմպիոնի տիտղոսը 200 մետր վազքում:

Ֆելիքսն առաջ անցավ ջամայկացի Շելի-Էն Ֆրեյզեր-Պրայսից: Երրորդ տեղը գրավեց ամերիկացի Կարմելիտա Ջեթերը:
