Ավստրալացի Սալի Պիրսոնն օլիմպիական ռեկորդով նվաճեց կանանց 100 մետր արգելավազքի օլիմպիական չեմպիոնի տիտղոսը:

Երկրորդ եւ երրորդ տեղերը գրավեցին ամերիկացիներ Դոուն Հարպերն ու Քելի Ուելսը:
