Մահացել է կրկնակի օլիմպիական չեմպիոն Օթիս Դեւիսը

92 տարեկանում մահացել է կրկնակի օլիմպիական չեմպիոն, ամերիկացի աթլետ Օթիս Դեւիսը, հաղորդում է World Athletics-ը։

Դեւիսը 1960թ․ Հռոմի Օլիմպիական խաղերում տիտղոսները նվաճել է 400 մետր վազքում եւ 4 անգամ 400 մետր փոխանցումավազքում։

Նա առաջինն է 400 մետրը վազել 45 վայրկյանից առագ՝ սահմանելով աշխարհի ռեկորդ։

400 մետր վազքի աշխարհի ռեկորդն այժմ հավասար է 43,03 վայրկյանի եւ պատկանում է հարավաֆրիկացի Ուեյդ վան Նիկերկին։
