97 տարեկանում մահացել է կրկնակի օլիմպիական չեմպիոն, 400 մետր վազքի աշխարհի նախկին ռեկորդակիր, ջամայկացի Ջորջ Ռոդենը, հաղորդում է World Athletics-ը։

1950 թվականին Ջորջ Ռոդենը 400 մետրը վազել էր 45,8 վայրկյանում՝ սահմանելով աշխարհի ռեկորդը։

1952թ․ Հելսինկիի Օլիմպիական խաղերում նա ոսկե մեդալները նվաճել էր 400 մետր վազքում եւ 4х400 մետր փոխանցումավազքում։
