22-ամյա բրիտանացի Քիլի Հոջքինսոնը նվաճեց Փարիզի Օլիմպիական խաղերի չեմպիոնի տիտղոսը կանանց 800 մետր վազքում։ Եվրոպայի կրկնակի չեմպիոնը ցույց տվեց 1:56.72 րոպե արդյունք։

Լավագույն եռյակում են նաեւ եթովպիացի Տսիգե Դուգուման (1:57.15) եւ քենիացի Մերի Մորաան (1:57.42)։
