Օլիմպիական խաղերի ծրագրում առաջին անգամ ընդգրկված մագլցման մրցաշարում առաջին տիտղոսը նվաճեց իսպանացի Ալբերտո Խինես Լոպեսը։ Տղամարդկանց մրցաշարում նա հետ թողեց ամերիկացի Նաթանիել Քոուլմանին եւ ավստրիացի Յակոբ Շուբերտին։
