Real defender’s debut for French national

Real central defender Raphael Varane was invited to join French national headed by Didier Deschamps.

France is preparing for a friendly against Uruguay scheduled for August 15. It will be Varane’s first appearance for the national team. Raphael Varane joined Real in 2011.

France is left without Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye and Valencia defender Adil Rami.

Jeremy Menez and Samir Nasri are suspended for one and three games respectively by Football Federation of France.
