Didier Drogba has been fined for refusing to play for Montreal Impact (Canada).

Major League Soccer (MLS) have fined him an unspecified amount, reported the BBC.

Drogba, 38, did not play in Montreal’s regular season match against Toronto FC (Canada), with coach Mauro Biello saying after the game that the forward “didn’t accept a place on the bench.”

The former Ivory Coast international  had made this decision after learning that he will not be in the Impact starting eleven for this match.

Subsequently, there were rumors that the former Chelsea (England) striker could leave this Canadian club, since he has a falling-out with Biello.

Didier Drogba has scored 10 goals in 21 appearances for Montreal Impact this season.
