Armenia’s Olympic silver medalist Greco-Roman wrestler Migran Arutyunyan wrote about his recent surgery in Germany.

“The surgery was not easy, but it was successful. Thank you to Dr. Gerd Beumer and his team for the professional work. Thank you to [Armenia national football squad captain and Manchester United (England) midfielder] Henrikh Mkhitaryan for the attention given to me in Frankfurt. Thank you to everyone who wrote and supported [me] in the social networks. I appreciate it,” the 27-year-old athlete wrote on his Facebook account.

He also posted the video of his surgery.

Migran Arutyunyan had competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics, which were held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with an injury he had sustained a year earlier.

His post-surgery recovery will take at least six months.
