Russian Football Union Deputy head does not understand Platini’s offer
18:26 30 June, 2012Russian Football Union Deputy head Nikita Simonyan does not accept the idea of holding the European championship throughout Europe starting from 2020. The initiative was offered by the UEFA President Michel Platini.
“I understand that qualifying tournaments are held in each country, but still do not get how the final round is possible to hold in 12-13 cities,” Sport Express quoted Simonyan.
He assumed that Platini may be discontent with the tournament held in Poland and Ukraine.
However, both Ukraine and Poland represent Europe or maybe he meant just Western and Central Europe, while Eastern part may be neglected, he said.
