Euro 2016: France defeats Romania in an opening game

The first game of Euro 2016 between France and Romania in ended 2-1.

France’s Olivier Giroud was first to score in the 58th minute after Dimitri Payet delivered a cross from the right.

The French national failed to preserve the advantage. Romania leveled moments after Bogdan Stancu scored from the penalty spot. Dimitri Payet (France) scored in the 89th minute to bring France its first victory in the tournament.

Their Group A rivals Switzerland and Albania will play on Saturday.
