Armenia's Nazik Avdalyan wins gold of European Weightlifting Championships
19:52 14 April, 2016Armenia's Nazik Avdalyan won gold of the European Weightlifting Championships in the category of 69 kilograms. Avdalyan lifted 105 kilos in the snatch and 132 kilos in the clean-and-jerk.
The Armenian weightlifter, world champion of 2009, won her first title after recovering from a serious injury caused by a car accident. The 29-year-old athlete dedicated her victory to the heroes who were killed in the recent hostilities in Karabakh.
“I dedicate my victory to all soldiers who are fighting in Karabakh. We are with you and are strong thanks to you,” Nazik said.
