Two-time World Champion Artur Aleksanyan welcomed home with great joy

YEREVAN. - Armenia’s two-time World Champion Artur Aleksanyan and the Armenian Greco-Roman wrestling team led by Levon Julfalakyan returned to Yerevan from Los Angeles today.
The administrations of Armenia’s National Olympic Committee and Ministry of Sport welcomed Artur Aleksanyan with laurels.

Aleksanyan (98 kg), who became the World Champion for the second time, was the only one in the team to win a gold medal for Armenia. Mihran Harutyunyan (66 kg) lost a medal because of partial refereeing.

Armenia was represented in 8 weight categories: Roman Amoyan (59 kg), Varsham Boranyan (71 kg), Arsen Julfalakyan (75 kg), Eduard Sargsyan (80 kg), Maxim Manukyan (85 kg) and Edgar Khachatryan (130 kg).

Artur Aleksanyan and Mihran Harutyunyan won berths for the Olympic Games to be held in Rio de Janeiro.
