Armenia’s Aronian: If possible, I will walk around Baku

“A very interesting tournament awaits,” said Armenian chess Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian, in Baku.

Armenia’s top GM will participate in the Chess World Cup 2015, which will get underway in Azerbaijan’s capital city, on Friday.

“I want to play as well as possible in this tournament,” Azerisport quoted Aronian as saying. “Even though the tournament schedule is very tight, I will walk around the city, if possible.”

The Chess World Cup 2015, which is a single-elimination tournament, will end on October 5.

The total prize money of this event is US$1.6 million.
