Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian (Armenia) played a draw against former World Champion, GM Viswanathan Anand (India), in Monday’s penultimate Round 8 at the 2015 Sinquefield Cup chess super tournament, which is held in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.

As a result, Armenia’s top GM needs only a half point to win the tournament.

Aronian has garnered 5.5 points so far, and he is the sole leader going into the final round.

Levon Aronian will face GM Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria) in Tuesday’s Round 9.
