LA to vie for bid to host 2024 Olympics?

A special commission of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) has approved the bid by Los Angeles (LA) to host the 2024 Summer Olympics, reported the Los Angeles Times daily.

First, however, the LA municipal authorities have to approve the final bid. If approved, the USOC will submit a respective bid to the International Olympic Committee.

Rome, Paris, Hamburg, and Budapest are already vying to host the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad.

Los Angeles has hosted the 1932 and 1984 Summer Olympics.
