FIDE: Armenia’s Aronian drops out of top 10

The World Chess Federation (FIDE) has issued its rankings for August 2015. Accordingly, Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian - who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the former World Team Chess champions Armenia - has dropped out of the top ten for the first time since January 2009, and is now eleventh in the new FIDE rankings.

The reining World Champion, GM Magnus Carlsen (Norway), continues to top the list while former World Champion, GM Viswanathan Anand (India), follows behind in second place, and GM Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria) is third.
