Platini to become FIFA presidential candidate

President of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), Michel Platini, this week will announce about running in the election for President of International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), reported L’Équipe magazine of France.

The head of European football will make use of the respective support by the majority of the confederations, and become the main contender for FIFA President.

Joseph “Sepp” Blatter, who was elected FIFA President for a fifth term in May, had announced about the holding of a snap election and leaving this organization after this voting.

The early election for FIFA President is slated for February 26, 2016.
