Chess news on Armenian players

YEREVAN. – Armenian WGM Diana Arutyunova (Ukraine) scored 5.5 points out of 9 points, and she took the first prize at the Chess Ladies Vienna chess tournament that was held by the round-robin system in the capital city of Austria. Separately, GMs Varuzhan Akobian and Samuel Sevian scored 5.5 points, each, out of 11 points, and they shared fifth to seventh places in the USA Championship of chess that was held in St. Louis.

To note, Sevian raised his Elo by 18 points. WGM Tatev Abrahamyan scored 5.5 points, and she shared fourth to eighth places in the USA Women’s Championship. And GM Tigran L. Petrosian scored 5 points after seven rounds at the Dubai Open in the UAE. IM Manuel Petrosian has 4.5 points so far, Armchess reported.
