Bernard Challandes: I did not resign
17:50 31 March, 2015Former Armenia's head coach Bernard Challandes said he had not handed resignation, but left his post under previously reached agreement with the Football Federation of Armenia.
“According to our agreement with the Football Federation of Armenia, I had to leave my post on the day when Armenia loses chances to reach EURO 2016. The day has come. We have discussed the matter in an atmosphere of respect and confidence, and parted ways,” Challandes said in an interview with Le Matin.
The former Armenia coach admitted he was disappointed, but said their plan was a little bit crazy.
“I like such challenges. I am especially proud with relationship we had with the players. They really wanted me to stay,” he said.
