Grandstand video of flare hitting Russia goalkeeper

A football fan has posted on Instagram the video of the incident that occurred during the Euro 2016 qualifier between the national squads of Montenegro and Russia.

The video shows how a flare thrown from the grandstand struck the head of Russia and CSKA Moscow goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev.

At the beginning of this match, which had started but was abandoned in the Montenegrin capital city of Podgorica, Akinfeev was hit by this flare and was taken off on a stretcher. 

The Russia international was taken to a local hospital to undergo a medical examination. 

The goalkeeper has already returned to Moscow together with the Russian national team, and he feels fine.

The fan who had struck Igor Akinfeev with the flare was immediately detained.
