Armenian chess player wins Moscow Open

YEREVAN. – Armenian Grandmaster (GM) Tigran Petrosian scored 7 points out of 9 and shared second to fifth places among 244 participants in the main chess tournament of the Moscow Open Festival.

Petrosian took the fourth place after the tiebreak, whereas the winner of this competition was GM Ernesto Inarkiev (Russia) with 8 points.

GM Samvel Ter-Sahakyan had an excellent performance in the Student Round-Robin Tournament of the festival, as he scored 6 points out of 9 and became the sole winner of the first prize.

Separately, (FIDE Master) FM Sargis Manukyan scored 7.5 points out of 9 and shared second to fourth places among 326 participants in the Amateur Tournament that was also held within the framework of this festival.

Manukyan placed third after the tie-break, whereas the winner of this event was Sergey Galakhov (Russia)with 8.5 points.
