Riquelme ends football career

Former Argentina international Juan Román Riquelme has announced his retirement from professional football, Ole reported. The 36-year-old midfielder had last played at Argentinos Juniors (Argentina). The player’s contract with this club expired last December, and he became a free agent. During his professional career, he had also played at FC Barcelona and Villarreal CF (Spain).   

Riquelme also made 51 international appearances and scored 17 goals for Argentina.
