Armenia’s Mikayelyan captures first place in Finland

Cross-country skier Sergey Mikayelyan (Armenia) has become the winner of the Men’s 10km Classic ski race in the international cross-country qualifying tournament, which was held in Lapinlahti, Finland.    

Ninety-seven athletes from eight countries participated in the competition, Armenian Ski Federation Secretary General Gagik Sargsyan informed on his Facebook account.

Sargsyan also noted that this triumph and all the other successful performances in Finland are important prerequisites for Armenia’s successful participation in the 2015 Junior & U23 Nordic World Ski Championships, which will take place next February in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
