Armenia’s Aronian and Nakamura of USA play draw

There was no winner in the third match of the chess competition, which is held in St. Louis, USA, between Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian (Armenia) and GM Hikaru Nakamura (USA).

Aronian—who is currently fourth in the World Chess Federation (FIDE) rankings and who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the former World Team Chess champions, Armenia—was playing with the black figures, and the match ended after the 35th move 

The two GMs had won a game, apiece, in the two previous matches.

In this tournament, the competing GMs will play four classic and sixteen blitz games. 

The prize money of the event totals $100,000, and the competition will wrap up on Tuesday.
