Armenia’s Aronian loses to Nakamura of USA

Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian (Armenia) was defeated by GM Hikaru Nakamura (USA) in a chess competition which kicked off Friday in St. Louis, USA.

The game ended after the 48th move.

In this tournament, the competing GMs will play four classic and sixteen blitz games.

The prize money of the event totals $100,000, and the competition will wrap up on November 25.

Aronian is currently fourth in the World Chess Federation (FIDE) rankings, and he plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the former World Team Chess champions, Armenia.
