Mkhitaryan will not return to pitch before October 18 – Ruhrnachrichten

Armenia national football squad and Borussia Dortmund (BVB) midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who suffered an injury in Dortmund’s German Bundesliga match against 1. FSV Mainz 05, will not be able to return to the pitch before October 18, reported Ruhrnachrichten of Germany.

“The situation became more complicated for BVB.

“In the case of optimal treatment, Henrikh will not return to the pitch before October 18. In all likelihood, [however,] he will be able to play in the [Bundesliga] match against 1. FC Köln,” Ruhrnachrichten wrote.

But the 25-year-old Armenia international will miss the national team’s Euro 2016 qualification-round group match against Serbia, which will be played on October 11 in capital city Yerevan.

At present, Mkhitaryan’s foot is in a gypsum plaster (plaster of Paris) cast.

The midfielder will soon undergo another medical examination, which will determine the exact date of his recovery.
