Armenian defender to miss Serbia match

Armenian national squad's defender Hrayr Mkoyan got injured in a regular match of the Iranian championship.

According to preliminary reports, the recovery will take two weeks which means Mkoyan's participation in EURO 2016 qualifier against Serbia is under doubt.

“I took part in Iranian championship match between Foulad and Esteghlal on September 19. I played 90 minutes. I felt a pain after the match and asked the doctor for help. It turned out to be a muscle injury on my knee. Now I take physiotherapy courses twice a day. The preliminary medical tests showed that I will have to miss two weeks,” he told FFA website.

Armenia vs. Serbia qualifying match will take place on October 11 in Yerevan. Henrikh Mkhitaryan will miss the match because of injury.
