Aleksanyan: My wish is that Armenia has many champions

By Shushanik Hakobyan TASHKENT. – In an interview with NEWS.am Sport, newly crowned Greco-Roman wrestling world champion Artur Aleksanyan (Armenia) commented on the congratulatory message extended to him by Armenian boxer Arthur Abraham, who is the reining WBO Super Middleweight Champion. 

Abraham had congratulated Aleksanyan for winning the gold medal at the 2014 Wrestling World Championships that wrapped up in Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan. “The opinion of an exceptional athlete like Arthur Abraham is a great honor for me. My wish is that our country has many champions who will make people happy with their triumphs,” Aleksanyan said.     

Artur Aleksanyan defeated Oliver Hassler (Germany) by a score 8-0, and in 55 seconds, in the final of the 98 kg competition at the 2014 Wrestling World Championships.
