Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian faced GM Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria) in Thursday’s Round 2 at the Sinquefield Cup chess tournament which is held in Saint Louis, USA.

In the end, Aronian—who is second in the World Chess Federation (FIDE) rankings and who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the former World Team Chess champions Armenia—achieved a convincing win against Topalov, who suffered his second consecutive defeat in the tournament.

To note, Armenia’s top chess master had played a draw with GM Hikaru Nakamura (USA) in Wednesday’s first round.
